Madumere Hails Imo’s Progress at Golden Jubilee Celebration

Imo State marked a historic milestone as it celebrated its Golden Jubilee in a grand ceremony hosted by Governor Hope Uzodimma at the Government House, Owerri.

The colourful grand finale, held last Saturday, attracted top dignitaries from across the state and beyond, including former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, who joined other prominent sons and daughters of the state to commemorate 50 years of its creation.

Speaking at the event, Prince Madumere described the Golden Jubilee as a moment of reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to the future of Imo State. He noted that despite the challenges confronting the state and the nation at large, Imo is gradually taking a positive shape towards prosperity and progress.

According to him, the steady strides being recorded in governance and development signal hope for a brighter future. He emphasized that the celebration should not only serve as a remembrance of the past but also as a call to action for all stakeholders.

Madumere urged citizens, political leaders, and development partners to put aside differences and work collectively to strengthen the state’s growth trajectory. “It is a time for all hands to be on deck to consolidate on the gains made so far and to ensure sustained goodness, growth, and development for Imo State,” he said.

The Golden Jubilee celebration featured cultural displays, speeches, and reflections on the journey of Imo State over the past five decades, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and aspirations for the years ahead.

As the curtains fell on the historic event, the mood remained one of optimism, with many expressing confidence that Imo State is poised for greater heights in the coming years.
